Beaux Birmans follows the French tradition of naming our kittens. This tradition is to give all kittens born in the same year names that begin with the same letter. This naming system goes through the entire alphabet until it gets to 'Z', at which point it starts over the following year with the letter 'A'. For example, in 2003 the naming system started again with the letter 'A'. All cats born this year, 2006, will receive a name starting with the letter 'D'. This system makes it easy to tell the age of a Birman kitten.
